CORRUPTION NOT IN MY SCHOOL
Transparency International (TI) in its Corruption Perception Index (CPI) 2017 ranked Nigeria in 148th position out of 180 countries as against the 136th position ranked in 2017. The stain of corruption does not spare the students. Cases of bribery, financial misconducts and electoral malpractices are on the rise among students of tertiary institutions.
Corruption Not In My School will engage 5000 students in four tertiary institutions in Lagos State, namely Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH), University of Lagos (UNILAG), Lagos State Polytechnic (LASPOTECH) and Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education (AOCE). The project will effectively engage the students on behavioral change and increase the participation of students in the fight against corruption through capacity building, awareness program and media engagement that would promote transparency, accountability and reduce corruption among students.
What can you say about corruption in tertiary institutions and how do you think the narrative can be changed?
